Charles-Lemoyne School – Renovating to Inspire the Future

Project Description

Located in the heart of Montréal, Charles-Lemoyne School is undergoing a major modernization as part of the CSSDM’s infrastructure upgrade program. The mandate involves a complete overhaul of the building envelope and targeted interior renovations — all while maintaining uninterrupted school operations.

Key interventions include façade restoration, replacement of exterior doors and windows, upgrades to waterproofing and thermal insulation systems, and reconfiguration of select interior spaces. The goal: to provide a safer, more energy-efficient learning environment that meets today’s educational needs.

Challenge

Working in an active school environment brings significant logistical complexity. The project is executed in carefully planned phases, with gradual mobilization to minimize disruptions.

The school’s urban location adds constraints related to deliveries and limited site access. In parallel, strict compliance with safety standards is essential to protect students and staff — all within a tight schedule requiring flawless coordination across all trades.

Expertise

With proven experience in institutional renovation, Seni leads the project with precision and foresight. Careful planning ensures seamless cohabitation between the construction site and school activities, maintaining both safety and continuity.
The building envelope is upgraded using high-performance, sustainable materials that significantly reduce energy loss and improve thermal and acoustic comfort. Through close collaboration with all stakeholders, Seni is delivering a transformed space — built to last, and designed with future generations in mind.
